The Code of Ethics reflects its commitment to use their knowledge and expertise to promote high quality, competent and ethical care for clients and thereby instill public confidence in the profession.

There is a clear fee schedule; clients receive the relevant fee information to enable them to make an informed choice about the financial aspects of the services they will receive.
Description of Standard
Hurd About Health demonstrates the Standard by:
Ensuring that before the service is conducted: the fee schedule and billing requirements are prominently described within the agreed and signed client proposal. The fee schedule and billing requirements will describe and cover all services, and administrative charges (e.g., fees for reports, prep time, follow-up consults, travel charges etc.), as well as, how the bill we be calculated, time of payment, and accepted methods of payment.
Cancellation Policy
The cancellation policy for scheduled appointments is: Clients must give 24 hours’ notice of cancelation or there will be a $50.00 fee charge for no communication through either phone or email.
Contact/Email responses
Hurd About Health will ensure courteous and timely responses via phone or email as to client requests and questions within 48 hours of receiving enquiries. Hurd About Health does not practice texting as a chosen modality to client communication.
Assessments
What to expect during an on-site assessment?
Hurd About Health will do their best to arrive early for the initial meeting to discuss the needs and to custom fit the assessment to each case. If they are running late, a call to you will be made communicating reason for not arriving on time.
The assessment will include observation of the worker performing the tasks or tasks of the job.
The worker themselves are not being assessed as to how they do their work, job physical demands and cognitive demands are the only focus. It will be an active and fun assessment whereby many questions will be asked and answered on our part. Hurd About Health believes in getting into the space physically, always with permission.
If there are any high risk tasks or movements observed during the assessment, these concerns will be communicated both verbally and within the follow-up correspondence. Hurd About Health’s intention is to always aim for prevention of injuries.
Photos will be taken with permission. The intention is to get a picture of the equipment, space and not the worker.
An Ergonomic Consent form will be signed by the client where applicable.
Travel
Hurd About Health services will charge expense fees to clients outside of the North Bay area.
A fee of 0.55 cents/per km, plus standard hotel fee and meals. Breakfast $10.00, Lunch $15.00 and Dinner $25.00 (if services extend past 5pm).
Hurd About Health will always seek the average standard hotel rate within the area of travel.
Dress Code/PPE
Hurd About Health will always dress appropriately to allow professionalism, functionality and safety to be the chosen dress code. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will always be worn where applicable, and to adhere to client health and safety standards.
Covid -19 face mask, safety hat, safety glasses, safety boots, ear plugs, gloves and safety vest are included within the PPE protocol.
