Virtual Ergo Assessments, the new work world

Hello in what is now week 10ish for most of us small businesses in the “hold” pattern to stamp out the Covid19 virus. This weird and new work world has opened up new opportunities for a lot of the workplaces in Canada and around the world, including my consulting business..

My main service includes walking on-site at all different workplaces (industrial, education, health care, mines, mills etc.) wherever us humans work. I get to conduct ergonomic assessments with the intention to reduce worker pain and disorders. Complicated and yet simple.

Cool beans right?

Now with the new Covid19 work pivot, I have decided to also open a virtual assessment service. Let’s see how fun and challenging this will be. Luckily my business is able to morph into this concept. I have learned a lot more about technology, and the fact that I can be just as effective, if not more, when it comes to creative contact from afar.

Take good care, stay healthy, 2 meters, wash your hands.

Virtual Surgery 7- Brushing Teeth

Have you ever had to spit your water out while brushing your teeth, AND could not bend at the waist to reach the sink? Lol. This surprisingly, taken for grantedly, biomechanical challenge really did happen. And why not me? We are all just human. After making a lot of spit mess while feeling lost, confused and frustrated, I was enlightened by a good friend. “Use 2 cups” Love that. Always accept and ask for help vulnerability lesson 108.

Method: Just in case you can’t wrap your brain around this: rinse from one cup, spit in the second cup, pour into the sink, avoiding splashing all over the mirror and countertop. Brilliant.

Thank you India, thank you Janet.

Stay tuned for more functional ease of movement. Take good care, 2 meters.

Cellphones

If the martians are looking down on us...wouldn't they wonder "Why do those humans walk with their head down staring into a little black box?  Why don't they look at the beautiful scenery?  Why do they walk into oncoming traffic? Have you heard the term”crotchitis”?

Technology is great and it is making some parts of life easier and it is also making us dangerous and and very unhealthy (physically, emotionally).  Just stop and think about how you move through your day, approximately how many hours are you staring at the "blue light" aka screen, any screen.  How healthy do you feel?

Thanks for reading. Now look away from your screen, stand up, look far away for at least a minute. Healthy habit tip.

Stay tuned for more short ergo tips.
